Return of the Quasis

The Quasis - named for the prefix that denotes a psuedo something or other, these sites were a test I developed back in '05 or '06 to find new markets. The idea behind them was to throw up some content, drive traffic, and see what sticks. I abandoned this method for some reason, can't really remember...

Well they are back. Meant to be a supplement for my main product site, these are tasked with providing diversity for my Business. The big difference this time around is that all of them are focused on high gravity ClickBank products. While I haven't made any sales from them yet, the network is growing and gathering more traffic. One has generated 94 clickthroughs to the merchant. As such, I am expecting a sale from that particular Quasi soon.

Running through the 30 Day Challenge, I have learned that I need to be able to generate 200 visitors/day/salesletter or merchant to get consistent sales. I'm no where near that yet but I'm making strides.

For the main site, I'm planning to do a poll to determine what new product I should develop next. Meanwhile, I am starting the hunt for a CPA to help me develop my business structures for my Business and real estate. It is important that I get them created because:

1. In order to do dropshipping, my business needs a Tax ID.
2. The duplex needs to be separated from me personally so that someone who sues won't be able to get to my personal assests.
3. The Business and real estate need to be separated so that one getting sued will not endanger the other.

Real Estate

I'm tired of being a property manager. There are too many headaches and it diverts my attention from my Business. My girlfriend found a property management company that is willing to pick up my duplex for $75/mon. To no longer have to deal with tenants, that's a steal!

I can say this though, being the property manager for the past year has taught me A LOT. While I believe anyone who owns rental property should manage their own for at least a year, I'm ready to turn over the reigns=)

Back to Action

These periods of self doubt come, and thankfully, go. I return with renewed vigor! Yes...

Anyway, the strategy will have to shift. I need sales. I need to see money coming in because after 2 years of doing this I really need to see results. Yes, I will continue to focus on my main product site and try to get it to convert better than it is currently. Meanwhile, I will test Clickbank products relentlessly. At least one per week, maybe two. This will ensure that I'm diversified while I build my big site. When I find something that sells well, I will create my own product for it.

The main site is going to be part of a larger network that will include a site devoted to dropshipping and one a membership site. Those 3 combined should be able to pull in $5k-8k once I get things moving properly. The beauty of it is that each will feed the other. People from my product site will need the things from the dropshipping site and may want to be members of the membership site.

I just need to focus and make this work.

Where's My Motivation??

Things were looking up immediately after posting the latest test of my salesletter but things have definitely started to drop off again. I'm not really sure what to do. Get more traffic I guess.

I'm still gathering info on getting into dropshipping. Before I can start selling stuff, I feel like I need to incorporate the business. I will do this at the same time as incorporating my duplex.

That's it for now.

Rough Times

Things have steadily been deteriorating for the Biz. Sales have plummeted and conversions are ridiculously low. With the traffic I'm looking at, if I had the conversion rate I did in May and June I would be at about $70-90/day gross. That is more than a little disheartening.

Good news is that I am focused on getting the conversions up. I also want help each of my affiliates get to an average of $50/day. This would be ridiculous returns for me especially once I get dropshipping in place. Speaking of which, any of you know of a shopping cart that has affiliate features built in?

I just finished making a video for my VA. It is meant to show how to do some tasks more efficiently. I used Camtesia's 30-day trial to make the video. I really want Camtesia now, it is sweet!

Moving Up

Slowly but surely the first product site (P1) is rising in the Google ranks. Once I get my virtual assistant (VA) completely settled and in the groove, the rise should be very steady. I have never tried this hard to get on the first page of Google before. Amazingly, I'm not even in the top 50 in Yahoo or MSN.

Had a little trouble with the VA as one of the people the delegated my work to wasn't completing tasks as efficiently as I had hoped. My VA and I talked this morning and I have to say that I am really pleased with VMG BPO. With the exception of the efficiency thing, everything else has been excellent. If you need a VA, go with them. That's not an affiliate link, by the way.

Soon to be P2 is receiving traffic but the sign ups for the newsletter are low. Somewhere around 4%. No new sales either. I will work on the sales copy for both the product and the sign up tomorrow at work. Other than that, things are the same=)
